Dr Ignatius Szeto

Vice President

Dr. Ignatius Szeto is Vice President of Yili Group and Executive Director of the Nutrition and Health Research Branch under the National Technology Innovation Center for Dairy. He earned his Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences from University of Toronto, and completed his post-doctoral training at Columbia University. Ignatius has long devoted himself to research on nutrition and health across the full life cycle. His research portfolio includes human milk composition, healthy ageing, as well as the development and application of probiotics and functional dairy ingredients. He has chaired and participated in over 10 national and provincial research projects in China, such as the 14th Five-Year Plan focusing on the development and industrialization of food for special medical purposes (FSMP). He holds more than 60 invention patents and has published over 80 SCI papers. Ignatius is also a member of the IDF Standing Committee Nutrition and Health (IDF-SCNH). Ignatius has received a number of awards, including the Inner Mongolia Science and Technology Progress Award, China Patent Excellence Award, China Light Industry Science and Technology Progress Award, Special Invention Award of China Dairy Industry Association, UNIDO Global Science and Technology Achievement Award, 13th Five-Year Plan Advanced Individual in Light Industry, etc.
