Hon Andrew Hoggard

Minister

Hon Andrew Hoggard is the Minister for Biosecurity and Food Safety and the Associate Minister of Agriculture (Animal Welfare, Skills) and for the Environment. Andrew farms in the Manawatu and has a passion for food and agriculture. 
  
Qualified in Applied Economics, Andrew is a lifelong dairy farmer with 540 cows in the Manawatū. He served on the International Dairy Federation and locally as a member of Federated Farmers where he worked his way to the role of President and honoured as a Life Member in 2024. He remained President until 2023, after which he was elected that same year to Parliament as an ACT Party MP.
