Koert Verkerk

Corporate Director Public Affairs

Koert Verkerk (Wageningen, 1991) joined FrieslandCampina in 2018. First within the department of cooperative affairs with the main responsibility to support the cooperative board in development and execution of the cooperative strategy. Since 2020 Koert joined the department of corporate public affairs of which he is director since 2023. In this role Koert is responsible for managing stakeholder contacts for FrieslandCampina at a corporate level and representation of FrieslandCampina at Dutch, European and global forums. 

Before joining FrieslandCampina Koert has been dairy policy advisor at the Dutch organisation for agri- and horticulture: LTO Nederland. Before, Koert was the lobbyist and policy advisor international affairs of LTO Nederland being for three years the permanent representative of LTO Nederland in Brussels. 

Verkerk’s passion for the agricultural sector has always been significant. At young age Koert worked in side jobs on and around the farm. Koert studied Management Economics at Wageningen University. During his study Verkerk did internships in both Brussels and Washington DC.
